Moab-Salt Lake City-Jackson Hole ( 500 mls)

Today it`s been a tranfer trip ; from the Southern Nat`l parks to the north . On the way to SLC, the scenery it was nice only on the first 40-50 mls ,
the remaing part is was pretty boring

We made a stop at Rice ( just before SLC ) and we went to visit a local Dinosaur museum ( pretty cool ) . They have the only skeleton of Utahraptor

Anyway ,it was my first time to SLC and .............. I didn`t see anyting that will bring me back here again .

Different story the second part of the stage !!!! It`s been so nice that I`ve took only few pictures ( a couple of these of the refreshing watermelon that Ivyn and Marie gave to us )

I have enjoyed the ride so much that it`s been impossible to have a stop ! From Montpelier to Afton ( 47 mls on the Bozeman Trail) the ride it was pure adrenalin !!!! The road , the scenery, the colours, the mountains , the hills , the asphalt and above all ..... NO CARS, has given to me the perfect situation THAT EVERY BIKERS WANTS TO HAVE ! One curve after the other , I `ve drove so well that also Olly trough the speakers it was screaming : do not stop , do not stop , keep going !!! Awesome !!!!! Don`t say to anybody but .. the avg speed it`s been 83 miles per hour !

After 500 mls , we arrived at Jackson Hole around 8.00 pm . J.H. is a very beatiful "wild west village " , that didn`t loose the original " charme " despite too many tourists are playing the frontier`s men with their brand new cowboys hat.

After dinner I did go to the oldest bar of J.H. , pardon me , Saloon and ...........see what I have saw !!

When I was posting the last stage I have received a bad news from Italy . A friend passed away . Mirco was riding his bicycle with the same enthusiasm I know he had since when we were working together . He`ve lost control of his mountain bike and he felt down on the dirty road hitting a rock with a head .........He didn`t stand up anymore, and he died in this stupid way . He will not jump on his bike again because from what I`ve heard he wasn`t wearing the helmet !!!!! Folks , (especially kids ) anytime that you jump on two wheels, on a skateboard , snowboard etc etc , do not forget that the helmet can save your life ! Wear it and keep it fasten !!!!!!!!!!!!! Mirco was a great man , always available when anybody of us were need something . We all will miss his energy and his smile . Sioux City -Waterloo- Dubuque- Galena- Chicago ( 490 mls)

As the yesterday`s stage , also today this was the scenery for hundreds mls . Question : How many pop corn does the Americans eat every day day ? and again .... no human presence . Where are they ? I`ve though that maybe the aliens are kidnapping everybody that is not using cars or a trucks !!!! At the last moment we`ve decided to continue on the 20 east , we crossed the Mississippi River and we have found this amazing city : Galena . Very nice Approaching Chicago the trucks presence became normal . After 490 mls we finally arrived to Chicago. Today we are off.

Jackson Hole- Yellowstone Park- Silver Gate ( Cooke City) 201 Miles

We woke up thinking to have a nice day ( from the weather point of view ) and have the possibility to visit the Park slowly ,enjoying the warm sun that was with us yesterday . We opened the curtains and ............damn`d !!!!!! It was raining . Do you know that thin rain that can continue for hours ???? Exactly that one . We didn`t to get depressed and we dressed properly to go to the park despite the bad conditions ( even the guy on the below picture it was dispppointed about the rain ) . Unfortunately , on the way to the park ( in the mean time the rain became stronger ) we have foud 11 miles of road works that force us to drive on a dirty road with a very slippery mud . The mud and the rain made the ride very tough ! Thanks God, around noon the clouds disappeared and a fantastic blue sky with a vivid sun were finally above us Under the sunlight the colours of the park changed and finally we can appreciate the beauty of the enviroment .
