Silver Gate - Billings- Little Big Horn - Sturgis (450 mls)

We left Silver Gate quite early to go to Billings( Montana)trough this Mountain Pass. The scenery it was breathtaking and it reminds a lot the Cadore region in Italy . The only difference : 200 times BIGGER !!!!!!!!!!

On the way to Sturgis you can find antiques !!!!

This Farm it was burning !!!!

Before to arrive in S.Dakota , we made a stop at the memorial of the Little Big Horn Battle ( do you remember Lt Custer and 7th Cavalry ?) .

Some of you knows that I love the Native American culture and to be there it`s been a great moment for me . Below you can see a descendent of the Cheyenne warriors that together with Lakota, Oglala, Hunkpapa, Sioux and other tribes won at Little Big Horn .
Her name is Maije ( her indian name is Clear Dove)

After a brief visit ( by the way one of the Custer`s soldiers it was Italian) we took the 212 East direction to Sturgis, where we arrived around 7.00 pm . Do you have an idea of how big is Montana ? We rode for hours ( 3 ) in a middle of nothing and without traffic at all .
Probably we passed and crossed 50 trucks and 20 cars ( in the picture one of them ) .

We just arrived at 50% of our journey and believe me, USA are very, very, very, very big. Today, I ve calculated the distance between one ranch from the other : it`s not less then 15/20 mls

Sturgis :

a village in the middle of nowhere (6.000 inhabitants ) that once a year become the Harley Davidson World Capital . Next week almost 400.000 riders will be here for the annual Sturgis Rally ( on the HD 50th anniversary the riders in town were almost 1.000.000 ) . We took some picture of the event`s preparation .
